Support Unhealthy Doubts: Vietnam’s Groundbreaking Nutrition Documentary
It all began with one simple question:
“If plant-based eating is so good for you, why do health professionals and society at large remain so sceptical?”
What if the very advice we have been taught to trust is holding us back from our healthiest, most vibrant lives? What if doctors, despite the best intentions, lack sufficient training in nutrition and the public is inundated with outdated myths and contradictory social-media algorithms?
Consider Phung’s story. After more than forty years as a healthy, devoted vegan, she mentioned to her GP that she had been feeling dizzy and fatigued. Without conducting any blood tests or referring her to a nutrition specialist, her doctor blamed her diet. Trusting this verdict, Phung returned to eating animal products, too afraid to challenge her doctor’s opinion, only to find her symptoms persisted.
This is the reality we will uncover in Unhealthy Doubts, Vietnam’s first feature documentary to explore the deep-seated uncertainty around plant-based nutrition. With our national nutrition board warning that the Vietnamese consume twice as much meat as recommended, Vietnam stands on the brink of a public health crisis unless we question the status quo now.
Unhealthy Doubts will debunk these myths by giving voice to the scientists and dietitians who understand plant-based nutrition. We will follow Vietnam’s top athletes to demonstrate how a vegan diet fuels world-class performance at every stage of life, and we will shine a light on everyday people whose health journeys have been shaped positively by what they eat.
Join us. Support Vive, Vietnam’s leading vegan and animal advocacy organisation, in producing the film that will change hearts, minds and medical advice. Together, we can spark a new conversation that empowers Vietnamese citizens, health professionals and policymakers with the knowledge to choose plant-based nutrition for a healthier, more sustainable future.
